i drew these!

just some of my doodles. still trying to figure out how best to display art like this, the scanner sometimes overexposes and cant always pick up pencil correctly.

me!

one of the few pictures, but relevant. its me fools! sam! i made it with mugs, cant you see?

girls girls girls girls

girls i do adore. these are from a series i aptly named girls. a series i intend to continue, as they mean a great deal to me. not much can be said, other than theyre both graphic and painterly and can easily be reproduced.

paintings

the first, lette, is an abstract, a form of painting im not particularly good at. again though, the dog skull rears its ugly head. second i submit the monkey, a graphic chunk of shape and cartoon. the tiki men are mixed media, and easily reproducible, but fun.

drawings

the first doodle is a stag deer antler beast, which i respect and have never shot at. harry potters expecto patronum if you will.

second we have a tribute to neutral milk hotels' song two headed boy, which is among my favs. drawn on canvas, perhaps to be a painting someday.

the third image is the bull, the taurus like me, just effin people up in the streets of pamplona or spain. in new orleans, the running of the bulls consists of the roller derby girls whacking people with plastic bats, but to me it does not quite capture the raw essence of a slobbering, bucking creature of masculinity gouging ignorant fools with its razor sharp horns as they flee in terror. but thats just me.

new orleans yat?

these are from a time in my life when i was living in new orleans. duh. the first, the infinity heart is very dear to me, and cannot be adequately expressed in a mere few sentences. id need a whole other blog for that. the defend new orleans symbol is not my design, but i did hand paint this image, it is very small (4x5 inches), and appreciate what it stands for. the last one, the word defend, is a bit of an experiment, using acrylic and black tape, creating an entire universe inside of the font itself. though it does not necessarily refer to nola, it is a nice headline and template for further projects.

stinking the place up

these are some images from a series of interior graffiti i came up with. very rarely does one see spray paint in a domestic setting, but these images presuppose an environment in which proper ventilation and decorative freedom reign supreme.

fun with photoshop

thats big red rhonda, my old suburban, and the other is raptor jesus shooting lasers out his eyes fighting a rocket launcher-wielding bear on top of a shark snorting lightning bolts out of his nose. standard stuff you guys.

just to show im a real artist

the beginning, middle, and end of a commission i did for a friend. a simple drawing, that i secretly wished id kept. but, c'est la vie, amiright?

oh for real?!

This is one of my first real compositions made from photoshop. though the images are scanned in, from newspaper at that, its my first real try at cutting/pasting/basically collaging with the program, as opposed to glue and paper. nothing too complicated, but i always kinda liked it. spiders and pianers, whatll they think of next?!

the last few

my dad had this dog skull that he found in some woods as a boy, and i inherited it. by inherited, i mean i took it without his permission and use it for every art venture i can, because i love it and i think its interesting. i take very good care of it, in case he stumbles upon this blog.

some scans

basically a collection of strange objects i own/love. btws i have no idea who pamela is, and the gauge belongs to a car air conditioner thingy, back when i had an old 'burb that leaked freon.

i really liked that aztec calendar

i really liked this aztec calendar, i basically scanned it in and did different things with it. nothing too special to look at, but weird nonetheless. admittedly not my favorite work, but i got a good grade on it.

a few more

I thought these waves were the coolest thing ever. One's made out of golf tees! The other looks like a mirror! No but seriously, the backgrounds were okay, scanners can do really cool things when you mistreat them.

first art dump

These are images from an early digital art class. They're basically some of my first real experimentations with scanners and photoshops, and there are hundreds of them. Well, not hundreds, but there's a good amount.

Also, capitalization and punctuation are hard. i dont usually care for them.

nothing interesting below here

this used to be a very bad blog from a very bad blogger. i HIGHLY recommend not reading anything below this point, as it makes me look like a complete idiot. seriously, theres nothing professional or redeeming about the previous posts. i will remove them some day, but for now, just dont read em. please. that is all.
